Description
Perched at 450 metres above sea level on steep, east-facing slopes neighboring Conterno’s Francia, this hails from prime Serralunga territory. The Grimaldi team was pleasantly surprised when they saw Conterno pick before they did (famously late), with the Badarina harvest as late as October 18th. Fermentation is split between 40-hectolitre tini and stainless steel before ageing in 30- and 40-hectolitre botti. The palate is extremely clear, with vibrant raspberry, alpine strawberry, and orange peel, before unfolding into Serralunga’s signature cool, balsamic tones. This is compelling, thought-provoking, and completely delicious.Berry Bros. & Rudd
